Click anywhere on the image to zoom in. Hold the mouse button down and drag to move around the image, or click the control buttons at the bottom of the image window to zoom in, zoom out or pan around.
Use the button to return to the default view.
Use the button to view full screen (not in Flash version).
Use the navigator in the top left corner to move around the image once zoomed in - just click inside the area highlighted in red and drag with your mouse to the section you'd like to view.
Alternative keyboard shortcuts:
Zoom in = Shift key
Zoom out = CTRL key
Pan left = left arrow key
Pan right = right arrow key
Pan up = up arrow key

I Series (I1-I10)
Most sets of hell scrolls are sadly undated, but this particular set of ten was made around 1919, judging from a dedication date given on the seventh scroll. The eighth hell is clearly of the same template as S4, and of the sixth paths of reincarnation in the tenth hell, three of them are as humans rather than just two. (Image: 63 X 135 cm.)
Dedication
The text on the far right side of the desk is the scroll's dedication securing merit and protection for the financier's family, and here we have a rare date of dedication, namely 1919.
