Creating the symmetry mate of 1HHO.
Hemoglobin is natively a tetramer, but 1HHO only shows two of the four
chains - 1 alpha and 1 beta. To see the second you need to
already know a little bit about the shape of the molecule. In this case
I know that residue101 of the beta chain adjoins the symmetry related
alpha chain, so I typed:
symexp sym, 1HHO, /1HHO//B/GLU`101, 5
That finds all symmetry mates within 5 Å of GLU 101 in the B chain of 1
HHO and creates a second model on the screen that is also listed on the
action window at right.
Back to main exercise.
