Save Workspace

Whenever you quit R, you are asked whether you wish to save the workspace image. Usually you don't need to do this, and doing so can lead eventually to a very cluttered workspace. However, when working on an extended project, you may find it useful to save altered versions of datasets, new variables, and so forth. Just answer "y" when asked

      Save workspace image? [y/n/c]:

Note: on the Macintosh systems in ETC211 you may need to change the working directory before saving the workspace image. Pull down the tools menu, select "change working directory", and select "Desktop". Don't forget to hit the "continue" button to apply the change.

Note: on the Macintosh systems you must change the name of the workspace image file from ".RData" to something that does not begin with a dot ("."). I use "RData" or a more descriptive name.

You can then restore the workspace using the file menu.
