Class Policy on In Class Problem Sets

On a regular basis, I will distribute problem sets to the class. The problem sets are very important to provide practical applications of the materials in the readings.

In order to allow us to both evaluate performance on the problem sets, and to let you get immediate feedback on your work, we will employ peer grading of the problem set. What this means is that the problem sets will be turned in on Friday, then will be redistributed to your classmates. I will also distribute an answer key. We will assess performance as a group.

In order to retain anonymity, you must put only your student number on the problem sets. Do not include your name.

Because it is critical that you attend class in order to benefit from the problem sets, I cannot allow extra time for turning these in. However, you will have up to a week to finish all the problem sets, and you can work in groups (although each of you must turn in separate answers). This method should be fair to everyone in the course.
