Abstract:
I will explain how to associate a set of polynomial equations to a lattice
polygon. A "syzygy" is a polynomial relation between equations. I will
explain a theorem by Hal Schenck about the relationship between the number
of lattice points on the boundary of the lattice polygon, and the resulting
equations and syzygies.
