Abstract:
Beginning in 1999 and continuing until 2004, Eric Roberts and his colleague
Brigid Barron at Stanford's School of Education jointly led a project to develop
a new computing curriculum for Bermuda's public schools. The curriculum
development work was carried out almost entirely by Stanford students, with over
20 taking part during the lifetime of the project. In the years since the
curriculum was fully deployed, every public high-school student in Bermuda has
taken at least one Stanford-designed course, which has opened up significant new
opportunities for young people on the island.
