Abstract: Dirichlet's Problem is the fundamental boundary value
problem of mathematical physics. In this lecture, we will describe
the initial motivation for the problem; we will review several methods
for its solution, notably, the method of O. Perron (1923); and we
will relate the problem to an outstanding question about charge
distributions in electrostatics.
