Good Evening Delegations, Her Majesty and Prime Minister Cameron would like to extend their warm regards to the electorate. Thank you for attending. The United Kingdom has the distinction of being the third country to have acquired nuclear weapons and we are proud to have always followed a sensible nuclear program. The United Kingdom holds the smallest nuclear nations recognized by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which stands as a testament to our commitment to transparent and logical international nuclear policy. We are part to be part of this global conference with Iran in attendance. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our record with our own domestic Muslim population, and hope that we can find common ground with Iran. We hope to use this opportunity to come to the negotiating table with Iran, and affirm the need for full transparency of nuclear operations as a strong foundation for global stability and cooperation. Iran must agree to comply with Code 3.1 of the NPT and clarify their stance as to the reactor in Qom. Saying this, we further affirm the right of all nations under the NPT to fully use nuclear energy for civilian needs and we are happy and willing to share technology for peaceful purposes if Iran is willing to come back to the legitimacy of the NPT. Our support for sensible worldwide nuclear policy demands that we request French and Chinese nuclear reduction to our level. This is crucial to demonstrate a credible commitment of the NPT countries to take a stand of our own towards a sensible nuclear policy. We are not asking Iran to make these commitments to international nuclear cooperation alone. Our strongest commitment is to world stability and cooperation. We ask them simply to abide by the standards that the rest of us follow. With this in mind we hope to bring Iran back into the fold of the international community. I yield my time to the Dais.
